1.So, who is this petition aimed at?
Well, after this site has raised a sufficient number of signatures for someone to take action, the first place I will be sending it to will be the internet giant ebay. I feel it is because of ebay that ticket touting (or known online as cyber-scalping ) is growing at a large rate. Ebay have created a marketplace and a portal which encourages the overpricing of tickets and protects the identity of the sellers . After ebay change their policies, smaller other websites will soon have to follow.

2.Why is ticket touting wrong?
There is so much on this topic I would be able to say, just doing a search on ticket touts on the internet will bring up all kinds of information and forums about the subject. My point of view is that ticket touting is unfair and it rips people off. You may of course have another idea, there are two sides to everything, but the majority view is that it is wrong and it cannot continue to grow!
Not only is touting ripping people off, it is also spoiling a lot of venues and gigs for people. Sometimes touts will buy so many tickets they just cannot find the ways to unload them, and even if people did want to go to this venue they cant, so venues are not being filled up, even though it has been sold out, and as a result it is spoiling the atmosphere and it turn your whole experience!!
I mentioned that I think ticket touting is unfair, a reason for this is because a lot of tickets for events go on sale at the same sort of time most people are hard at work and therefore cannot buy the tickets. By the time people actually get in from work and try to buy some tickets they can find that they have already all been sold to these touts who can just sit at home all day (as they make their money taking a lot of yours!!) ready to buy tickets as soon as they go on the market!
One worrying thing that has been apparent with the increase in ticket touting is that not only are touts selling at a ridiculous price, but as people can charge such a high price some people are now using this as a way to scam you out of money, selling you tickets without even having any tickets to sell and just keeping your money!!
Just think, if ticking touting is bad now, how much worse it will get for the World Cup and the Olympics!!!
Some quite recent ebay ticket sales:
4 Ashes tickets £1,500
2 Wimbledon men's final £780
4 U2 at Twickenham £400
1 Glastonbury plus ID £151
3.Will this actually change anything?
With large enough numbers I think it will, if you think back a few months to live 8, people started selling tickets on ebay however there were so many people who complained, ebay put there foot down and stopped it.
The following passage was taken from the bbc website about ebay and ticket touts, “it (ebay) has talked to the government about sporting bodies' concerns with ticket touts, but says anti-resale policies would be against consumer interests” . Just so you know, WE ARE THE CONSUMER INTERESTS. If enough people support this site they will have to listen and take action, they said so!!! Their business relies on us, as consumers, to be happy with them and use there services.
Even if ebay refuse to take any action, there has already been some talk for the government to stop ticket touting completely, and I am sure this will help speed the process up! They will have to listen to us sooner or later!!!

4.What end result are you after?
What I want is for online companies such as ebay to restrict or control the sale of tickets on there respective sites. I am not saying that people should be banned from selling tickets online full stop, far from it, I think it is a great way that if you are unable to go to an event to give someone else the opportunity to go! I think instead users selling tickets should be set a reasonable limit (if any) on top of the actual face value of the ticket or some other similar method, which gives a fairer price for the ticket!

5.So how can I help?
The first thing you can do is sign the petition, It is your signatures that will help the campaign grow! After that please tell some friends about the site, (and if you could post it on your web blogs or your own site, that would be great!) and lastly find out the latest news of the site .
